I give God all the glory for giving us this wonderful opportunity this year to meet at his glorious presence. We must appreciate God for all he has done, all he is doing and all he has promised to do. Let all glory and honor, adoration magnification and appreciation be ascribed unto his holy name in Jesus precious Name. Amen!
On behalf of myself and family, I welcome all participant to this wonderful edition of youth & evangelical workshop/lecture with the theme, “LET NO MAN DESPISE THY YOUTH, BUT BE THOU AN EXAMPLE OF THE BELIEVERS, IN WORD, IN CONVERSATION, IN CHARITY, IN SPIRIT, IN FAITH, IN PURITY. (1st TIM.4:12.)
The youths are the nearest future leaders in every generation. They shall soon occupy the offices of the present day leaders. Hence they should be shown the old landmark, the fact and know – how in leadership of every field of endeavor. (Prov. 22:6, ECCL.12:1.)
THE SITUATION IN THE WORLD TODAY – The situation in our country today demands that the church has to be very fast to train up, educate and shaping the youth for nation building. The standard of moral living has degenerated in our society; consequently, the result is immorality, corruption, tribalism, crime, sexualism, rape, homosexualism, murder, hatred, indiscipline, kidnapping, cultism, professional killers, cheating, marginalization, 419 dupers, arm rubbery, ritualism, Boko Haram, etc.
THERE IS NEED TO TRAIN OUR YOUTHS (LAM. 3:27, MATT. 11:29-30.)
Our youth should be trained to imbibe the right vision, to be God-fearing, honest, obedience, self-reliance, truthful, sincere, self-discipline, courageous, righteous and upright, etc. to provide quality leadership to the present and future generation. It is towards this direction that St. Paul the Apostle wrote and demonstrates that the believing youth; ought to show good example-in word-in preaching the word of God and evangelize the dying world with the living word of God. The theme of this workshop is geared toward leadership by good example.
In conversation – show better example in your conversation, which must center on holy living, righteousness and truthfulness. ‘In charity’ in this context refers to love in practical terms. In spirit – this means that the spirit of God must control the believing youth. In faith – remember that without faith, it is impossible to please God and the believing youth must be faithful in all things. In purity – the context meaning refers to the believing youth to live a holy life of righteousness and transparency.
It is a pity that some of our youth today are full of pride, wickedness, arrogance, fornication, adultery, cheating, malicious attitude, etc. as characters of unbelievers above, but God who is not willing that any should perish is pleading for full-true-repentance now because tomorrow may be too late. (Rev. 3:20.)
I actually thank the speakers for their research work, having gone through their scripts; I am convinced that the participants shall have a story to tell about this workshop at the end.
At this point in time, I wish to express my thanks to all the participants.
Thanks and God bless you!
