
Abstract
This study examines the relationship between job design and organizational resilience in pharmaceutical firms in Port Harcourt. The study adopted a cross sectional research survey. Target population comprises of selected pharmaceutical firms in Port Harcourt. The accessible population for this study is 16 selected pharmaceutical firms. 113 employees were surveyed from the 16 pharmaceutical firms. A stratified random sampling technique was adopted. The sample size for the study is 88 using Taro Yamane formula. A total number of 88 copies of questionnaire were found useful for data analysis. Spearman Rank Order Correlation Coefficient was used as a statistical tool to test the hypotheses with the aid of SPSS 22.0. The study found that job design enhances organizational resilience. The study concluded that effective job design has the capacity to enhance organizational resilience of pharmaceutical firms in Port Harcourt. The study recommended that managers should ensure that job design is in place to enable the organization prepare for unforeseen circumstances.
