A toddler is a child of one or two years, who has recently learnt to walk. A toddler should be adequately catered for. Caring for a toddler entails the following:
i. There should be provision of adequate food.
ii. There should be provision of suitable clothing that will give room for growth and free movements.
iii. He/she must be given his/her bath regularly.
iv. He/she should be allowed to rest regularly and must be supplied with adequate play materials.
This is the process of helping a child learn how to control his/her bowel or bladder, in order for them not to mess up the floor. This training should start early and slowly, and the mother should be observant enough to notice the child’s toilet signs.
