CONDITIONS OF SUCCESS IN SOUL WINNING

TEXT: John 15:16 “ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruits, and that your fruit may remain…”

INTRODUCTION

Today; we shall consider the conditions of our success in the business of soul winning. Before then, let us read and understand the Text above, that the primary reason why we are called from the world is the definite purpose of soul winning.

Furthermore, let’s realize that the main condition for God to answer our prayers is the reason that we are soul winners by words and character.

  1. The first condition in soul winning is that we must be saved ourselves. 1st 1:15. It is the man who knows Jesus as Savior and Lord, who will have a longing to bring others to this wonderful Savior whom he has himself found.
  2. He must live a life pure, clean within and without. A life surrendered to Jesus Christ. 2nd 2:21. It has been said that God does not demand a beautiful vessel for his work but he does demand a clean one.
  3. He must work in the spirit of love and perseverance, not arrogant or pomposity. 1st Peter 3:15.
  4. He must have a fair knowledge of the Bible and know how to use it at the appointed time. 2nd 2:15; James 1:5.
  5. He must be a man of prayer, asking God to lead him to the right person to talk with, and after preaching to the soul, he will ask God to bring a positive result. Acts 16:25, Luke 6:12, 1st 5:17.
  6. He ought to depend on the power of The Holy Spirit. Eph. 5:18, Acts 1:8. The supreme condition of power in The Apostolic Church was the definite baptism with the Holy Ghost. The supreme condition of success today in soul-winning is the same.
  7. He should have compassion for lost souls-a passion for the lost. If he does not, he will work with a dead, mechanical, dispassionate concern and the people he approach shall respond to him accordingly.

CONCLUSION

All the Elders and Ministers of all Church must study and know at the tip of their fingers that any program propagated within the Church of Jesus Christ that is not geared toward soul winning is out of place. And such program should not be encouraged. Let Elder/Ministers be member of the Evangelical movement to teach our young people the habit of going outside and win souls to the kingdom of God. Prov. 22:6, Eccl. 12:1; Lam. 3:27; Matt. 11:29-30; Lk. 10:1-12, 16-20; John 1:45-51.

May God bless you if you accept the word of God and put into practice.
