God’s Command

(Pops – Episode 14)

{INT. POPS’ ROOM – DAY}

Pops is sitting on his bed.

POPS

(takes his Good news Bible and opens the first page)
Good News Bible!
(nods)
I want God to bless my days and give me commands, which I’ll follow every morning. In those days they used to cast a lot and the lucky person becomes a chosen one by God. So, I’ll open the Bible randomly and the first sentence I read is God’s word and instruction for me each day.
(opens the Bible randomly and suddenly stops)
“And the Lord will bless you in everything you do.” Thank you, Lord! That’s Deuteronomy 15:10-b. Good!

DAY TWO

POPS

(wakes, sits, picks up his Bible, opens it randomly and suddenly stops)
“and so no disaster will strike you, no violence will come near your home.” Amen! That’s Psalm 91:10. Thank you, Lord!

DAY FIFTEEN

POPS

(sits, picks up his Bible, opens it randomly and suddenly stops)
“The Lord will make you prosperous in all you do.” Amen! That’s Deuteronomy 30:9-a.

DAY HUNDRED

POPS

(wakes, sits, picks up his Bible, opens it randomly and suddenly stops)
“then he went off and hanged himself.” No! Matthew 5:9-b is not my portion.
(opens the Bible randomly and suddenly stops)
“You go, then, and do the same.” Why would Jesus say this to me in Luke 10:37-b?
(sighs, opens the Bible randomly and suddenly stops)
“Be quick about what you are doing!” no, no, no, no, John 13:27-b, I forbid it! I want to be a Muslim!
