HOW TO LEAD A PERSON TO CHRIST

JOHN 1:40-42, ACTS 8:26-38

This lesson will show us how to begin personal Evangelism and e steps to follow. One of the most difficult points in personal work is the beginning. But with the Holy Spirit leadership it is very possible. Remember that the Holy Spirit enhance the personal worker to work effectively. Act 1:8.

1.  FIND THE ONE TO DEAL WITH

The first thing is to be on the look out for the one to deal with. As it has been already said, we should pray God to lead us to some one, or some one to us. Any where we go, we should be on the look out for opportunities for Soul-winning. And when ever we come across a man, woman, a girl or boy the great probability is that, it is a providential opening and we should be ready to meet it as such. We ought to make soul-winning our business, and improve every possible opportunity.

2. CONVERSATION

Having found your person, begin a conversation. This can be done by asking leading questions to find out just where the person stands, for example, “my dear friend, how are you’? “Are you a Christian” “Are you saved,” “Have you been born again? “Upon what do you base your hope of eternal life’? “Have you been confessing Christ openly before the world”? Etc.

3. THE POSITION OF THE PERSON

You are going to know the position of the person by the above questions. Also by watching in the inquirers face. Neh. 2:2 by observing his tone and manners. Jn 4:19 where so by the Holy Spirit guidance. Acts 8:29.

4. LEADING TO CHRIST

Lead him as directly as possible to Christ as his personal Saviour and Lord by his absolute surrendering. Acts 16:31

5.   LEAD INTO ASSURANCE

Show him from God’s Word that he has forgiveness of sin and eternal life. Acts 10:43, Jn. 3:36.

6. SHOW HIM HOW TO MAKE A SUCCESS OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE, UPON WHICH HE HAS ENTERED.

(a) That he must live a sanctified life. II cor. 5:17
(b) That he must confess Christ to others, daily. Matt. 10:32, Rom. 10:9
(c) That he must study the Nord of God regularly and hide it in his heart Ps. 119:11, 1Pet. 2:2, Joshua 1:8
(d) That he must be constant in services to God. Heb. 10:25
(e) That he should be a generous giver. Mal. 3;8-10, II cor. 9:6-8
(f) That he must live a prayerful life. Isa. 40:31, I Thess. 5:17
(g) That he must go to work for Christ. Jn. 9:4

This important studies must be given it’s place in practical evangelistic out-reach to actualize it’s potential benefit to the church of Jesus Christ.
