THE VIRTUES OF THE LAMP

“BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD WHICH TAKETH AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD” JOHN 1:29.

EXPLANATION OF THE LAMB
The lamb in this context refers to the son of God – the Lord Jesus Christ. Naturally a lamb is a clean animal used for sacrifice in the Mosaic Law day and night. Exo. 29:38-39. SACRIFICIAL NATURE OF THE LAMB
As lamb was regarded as a clean animal used for sacrifice, so Christ had been sent as the sinless of God meant for the sins of the whole world. Heb. 10:10,12. This revelation was given to Isaiah  so many years ago before Christ was born. Isa. 53:7. God then revealed same to John the Baptist who consequently, recommended Jesus to His own disciples. BEHOLDING THE LAMB
Beholding the lamb in this context refers to the recognition and believing in Christ as the only means of salvation. Jn. 1:36-42. John the Baptist introduced Jesus for His own disciples who in response stated to follow Jesus from that honour. Be sure you appropriate the Lamb by accepting Him into your life as the only way of salvation. John. 14:6. And person who fail to accept Him, there is no other way of salvation. Acts 4:12. Behold the Lamb of God, Behold the saviour of mankind, Behold our blessed Redeemer, Behold our Mediator, Behold our Chief Shepherd. I recommend Him today to as many as have not known Him, and that those who have known Him to worship Him in Spirit and in truth and labour to make Him known to the dying world. Jn. 15:16.

EXALTATION OF THE LAMB
Jesus is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Rev. 13:8. But God has exalted Him during His death and resurrection. Phil. 2:9-11.
